We met this sweet couple at Kristina & Colton’s wedding earlier this year, and were so excited when they soon after talked to us about their own wedding day! I grew up with Aaron’s cousin Kayla, and Aaron told me at our session that he remembers playing with my brothers growing up! I know Aaron’s uncle, and when I was taking a portrait of Aaron I was so stunned that I saw his uncle’s face all of a sudden! I pointed it out to him and he said, “Not the first time I’ve heard that!” His whole family is so kind and generous in serving others, and we are so excited that we get to spend the day with them at Samantha & Aaron’s wedding next May!
Samantha told me a bit about the proposal – Aaron chose to take her back to the place where he knew for sure he wanted to marry her. You may think that it was the place where they had an absolutely perfect day, but actually it was the place where they had a terrible day, and I promise that makes the story even better. The year before, while trying to have a relaxing day enjoying the scenery of Chattanooga, Tennessee, they had accidentally gotten left behind by a train, and then had a car accident – losing their bumper! – on the way back. Aaron took Samantha back to that spot to ask her to marry him, because he said on that day when everything was falling apart, Samantha remained calm, serene, and reminded him to pray, and he knew then and there that she was what he needed.
I’ve got to say – I don’t get tired of going back to this location! Cragfont will always be special to me! It’s so fun to look back at all of the little spots I remember from our wedding day. The spot in the garden where we had our first look, the mansion where we had our ceremony, and most important: the place where our BISCUIT TABLE was set up. Yes, a sweet friend — Aaron’s aunt! — made about 1,000 homemade biscuits, and we had a biscuit table.
Samantha & Aaron, I am so excited for you both! I absolutely loved my time with you and am so excited to share all of my favorites from your day! So excited for May!
