I (Lauren) grew up in Tennessee, so for the entire time I was in Florida, I felt like I was away from home and missed it SO much. When we moved back here last year it felt SO right, and that I was back where I belonged. But, every time we go back to Florida, Jon and I always talk about how we always get a funny feeling of “home” there too. Between college and working there, I was there for eight years, which was only a little less than a third of my life. That’s significant, and we still feel a strong connection to the community of wonderful people we were a part of during our time there. So, every time we land at the Tampa airport, I get this little pull that feels right there too! And I think that’s okay! If we have two places that feel comfortable, familiar, and welcoming – that’s all right with me.
Because our alma mater is in Florida, and so many of our amazing couples attended there as well, we nearly always have a full schedule when we come to Tampa! In addition to a wedding, we had three other sessions in the 48 hours we were there! And I even sneaked in a car nap and an IKEA trip. Winning. Diana & Stuart were willing to get up and get ready for a sunrise session, and we were so glad they did! They looked a lot better than us at that hour, lemme tell ya. We met them on the beautiful Bayshore Boulevard, where they have often gone on date nights just to walk and look at the beautiful architecture in that area! We were so happy to have their engagement session in an area that was meaningful to them and held good memories already.
Diana & Stuart met at Florida College (just like Jon and I did!), but it wasn’t love at first sight! He thought she was stand-offish, and she thought he was obnoxious. Isn’t it crazy how wrong our first impressions can be? I wonder how many more wonderful friendships I could have had if I had looked past my initial assumptions about people based on my tiny sampling of who I thought they were! Thankfully, Diana & Stuart got over that quickly and became best friends and soon after began a relationship. After four years, he proposed and we are SO excited for their June wedding coming so soon!
Diana & Stuart, your joy made this session an absolute delight, and we know your wedding day will be even more so! We love you both so much!
